| A Much Needed Update |
I've been extremely busy (a good thing) this last month because I'm working with several clients right now trying to finish up various projects. Hopefully that is a good explanation for the lack of updates.
Anyway, here is what has been going on:
- I've been working on a new site for Pellet Envy, an award-winning competition BBQ team lead by Rod Grey. The site is based off the same design that I created for his trailer. (Pictured Above)
- Still finishing up aconnectingpointe.com, waiting to add content as it's supplied by the client.
- I had also had the opportunity to (hopefully) secure gogreenkcmo.com, a social networking site/informational guide, that will have articles posted regularly about "green" technology and what companies in the KC area are using it. It will also feature a forum, videos, and reviews.
- Soon I'll be starting a promo design soon for Hurry Up and Wait, a Kansas City area film that is currently in early development. So check back for information on that.
- Lastly, I lost my phone on Tuesday (the 2nd) and it hasn't shown up. Unfortunately it was the new $300 iPhone...and they don't offer insurance. If you tried calling me in the last few days and it went straight to voicemail, then that is why. I will be replacing it today, so no worries.
As always, thanks for stopping by! |

| New Features! |
I've spent a good chunk of time the last few days making a lot of small "cosmetic" updates to the site.
Here is just a few of them:
- Added: Live Chat Feature
I'm sure you've seen it, but to the left is a new live chat feature! From now on, anytime I'm at my desk I'll be able to talk to visitors to the site. This is made possible by a very impressive program by the name of Digsby.
- Added: Side Box Titles
I designed small title graphics for the boxes on the left. Nothing huge, but sometime soon I plan on making the boxes collapsible. Hopefully that will make it easier to see them all at once.
- Added: About Me Box
To the left you'll now be able to find an "about me" box, with an option to read more that takes you to the about me page..which I will update soon.
- Added: Download My Resume
The about me box (to the left) now has a link to download my most current resume.
Also, check back soon to see the site I mentioned in my last entry. Although it isn't live, it is online and I am just in the process of adding content as it's supplied by the client.
Thanks for visiting! |

| Weekly Review |
Ok so maybe it has been longer than a week. Anyway's I finally had the chance to take a first-hand look at Adobe's Creative Suite 4 and I am very impressed. What jumped out at me immediately was how much of an improvement Adobe has made to the performance side of Photoshop (and possibly Illustrator, I haven't checked). I haven't looked up the specifics, but I know that it has something to do with Photoshop now using the computer's graphics card more aggressively than past releases. Being somewhat of a PC gamer myself, this is huge because if you have a nice graphics card like me then you'll agree that it bridges some of the gap between "a gaming computer" and a computer built for handling large art files/renderings.
I've also been busy working on a new site for A Connecting Pointe, which is a local drug and alcohol assessment, education, and counseling center. Above is a little preview of the design I have sent to the client. Granted the client approves, I am getting pretty close to slicing and getting it online. So be looking for that. |

| Email Issues |
| For the last couple of days I have been transferring my web site to a different server and in the process my email (chris[at]grafikkid.com) has been down. If you tried emailing me in the last 4 or 5 days I didn't get it!
